Transport links

A Local Link bus service runs 6 times daily from Newcastle West to Charleville, stopping at Castlemahon, Feohanagh, Kilmeedy, Feenagh, Milford and Charleville.

Sports and Culture

Our parish has a rich sport offering for all ages with Feenagh Kilmeedy GAA, Feenagh AFC, and Community Games. Our local Scór Group has achieved national success, with some of our tenants among its members.

In Winter, a Rambling House is held fortnightly in Kilmeedy’s Community Centre (Aras Ide) with poetry, music, dance and recitations for all family members to enjoy.


Corran-Deel are currently developing a village park for Feenagh village, with a small playground and recreational walks. In Kilmeedy, the intergenerational garden (The Phoenix) is situated to the rear of the Old Garda Barracks – a calm and peaceful amenity with small vegetable and herb beds tended to by both Active Age and the pupils of Kilmeedy National School.

Ballinruane Woods, on the outskirts of Kilmeedy village, provides scenic walking trails with spectacular views over the counties of Tipperary, Clare, Cork and Kerry.


Feenagh has a shop and post office and a pub. Kilmeedy has a Community Shop & Café, a warm and comfortable place to have a cuppa with your friends or family.

National Schools

Each village has its own National School with all the benefits of small country schools such as small classroom sizes and outdoor recreation facilities.


Butterfly Pre-School in Kilmeedy village provides ECCE places. Situated in the Old Garda Barracks directly across from Kilmeedy National School, it has a warm and cosy atmosphere with a lovely outside play area for the children.

After school and Breakfast Club

An after school service and breakfast club also operates from the pre-school. Directly opposite Kilmeedy NS, it is a convenient drop off point for parents on their way to work. After school, the children can do their homework, have a bite to eat and play outside before they are collected for home. The rates are very affordable and those in receipt of social welfare may be entitled to payment assistance.

A bus service operates from Feenagh NS to the After School service in Kilmeedy.
